Is a social content service useful when I have a small audience?

Short answer
It can be, if the people who follow you are close to your potential clients and you already have a clear offer. For independent experts, a small, relevant audience that sees you consistently is often worth more than a large one. It is less useful if you need fast growth or guaranteed leads.
Why audience size is not the main question
Independent experts often need only a handful of new clients a year. What matters is whether past clients, referrers and prospects see you regularly and remember what you do.
Consistent, credible posts support conversations that happen elsewhere: referrals, proposals, follow-ups after a meeting.
When it's a good fit
You have an established offer and paying clients.
You know your expertise but lack the time to publish consistently.
You can give roughly 1 to 2 hours a month for input and approvals.
Illustrative example
This example is illustrative, not a client case. A boutique agency founder has 600 LinkedIn connections, many of them former clients and partners. After a quarter of steady posting, the goal is not follower growth but that those contacts can describe what she does when a referral opportunity comes up.
Limitations
- Social Engine does not promise virality, guaranteed leads or guaranteed revenue.
- Growing a large audience from scratch usually needs other tactics, such as paid ads, which Social Engine does not manage.
- If you are still figuring out what you sell or to whom, focus on that first.
